Stingers Girls Tournament Team

The StingersGirls Tournament Team with WMLAX, are made up of girls from middle school thru high school.  Coaches emphasis is on team play.  We do not have try outs, and we do not cut players.  This is a first come first serve basis team.  We limit the teams to no more than 25 team players.  Coaches will teach heavy stick skills, team lacrosse play, and positioning skills.  Players are expected to come in with good conditioning and be ready to start.  Although we expect players to come in ready to play, we are here to work with players individually and with the team to expand their skills and experience.   This team is not built to dominate tournaments, but to help players build skills, and to be leaders and contributing team players.  We win as a team, and lose as a team, that is first and foremost.  Teams are also expected to interact up and down the age levels.  We expect our older players to set good examples, interact, and give positive feedback to the younger players.  Although making practices and touraments and playing on a regular basis helps quite a bit for the teams, practice and tournaments can be missed withhout penalty of playing, if coaches are given enough notice.  We understand that its summer.  Families and players have summer plans and we encourage that.  At tournaments we establish a large area where our teams can  all hang out, as well as parents, to encourage cross age group, and cross school system interactions.  We are a lacrosse family and with that comes the large group interactions on tournament weekends.  WMLAX supplies most everything that is needed for tournaments.  Tents, tables, water gatorades, etc.  We do however encourage families to bring sharable items.  Teh more the merrier, and the more fun it can make it for both parents and players.  If you have questions please talk to one of our coaches.  Fun, Exciting, and Welcoming game play is our goal.   Thanks for being a part of the WMLAX family team.
